Newspaper term by its name suggests that the source which brings news to us by means of day - to - day happenings all around the locality, region, state, the country and the whole globe. With the expansion of education, the importance of newspapers have been increased by leaps and bounds. Every individual wants to read newspapers either in paper form or digital. It’s becoming the integral part of every morning of one’s life. People read newspapers having a cup of tea in their hand is a daily habit. People who are not literate they ask others to read newspaper for them. Reading newspaper is not simply a habit but this creates pleasure by reading various sections of newspaper like editorial, entertainment, sports, and review column and so on. In our country Indian newspapers are so popular as a source of contemporary topics, political news, news of international and national interests, sports, entertainment, matrimonial, advertisements, and many more. In India newspapers are published in regional languages, and in Hindi, English & Urdu. Newspapers create and exercise of profound influence on the minds of the people. The most important role of newspaper is to bring us news of the whole globe. News in the interests of the people and their charm without newspapers, we would be like a frog in a well who knows nothing of the outside world.                                        

In a developing and democratic country India, newspapers are an important means of forming public opinion.  They talk and comment on various current events and criticize or appreciate the conduct of the government, so that positive approach may be created amongst people.

This also creates sense of awareness about the country problems and its solutions. In this way they educate the minds of the people to create their own opinion on matters of their and national interests. Newspapers are the best source of creating a democratic approach possible. They keep people in touch with each other to create a sense of national integration and communal harmony.

Newspapers are the best medium between the government and the people. Govt create awareness of schemes for the benefit of the countrymen through newspapers. This way people know about various schemes of the Govt and they express their satisfaction or dissatisfaction about the consequences of the schemes. Public opinion about Govt schemes helps Govt to take new measures for better implementation of the schemes, this way newspapers play a very vital role.

                                                Newspapers are the best source for trades and businessmen to bring their product in the market through advertisement. They create a sense of positive approach for their products through newspapers. People buy and sell their properties by giving advertisements in the newspapers. Newspapers also play vital role in connecting the society by providing matrimonial column.

          Today newspapers are available on internet also on free access basis in pdf forms. Anyone may read newspapers at any time by using internet facility online or offline by downloading the E-newspapers. Sometimes newspapers create communal violence by creating fake news or news not in an appropriate manner. Sometimes political news and opinion and comments create propaganda. This confuses the people and mislead them. The people fail to understand the truth. Sometimes news are even twisted and distorted. At other times, they stir up class hatred. They sow seeds of communal violence. This misuse of newspapers did much to courage agitation in the country. But these draw backs are nothing of compassion with their manifold benefits. They are really of great use for the people. So they should be encouraged in every way. On the whole the habit of reading newspapers is good one.
